The New Addition To Our Family

His name is Jack. As in Jack Daniels, yes I know what you're thinking... "Seriously Lauren?" Well here is the reason why. He is Austrailian Cattle dog. His to coat is black and the under coat is light-ish brown. Therefor, looking like a Jack Daniels bottle. Black label with whiskey underneath!! Not ridiculous. He just looks like a Jack anyhow. He is just over a year old. Very playful and yet very obedient. He surprises us everyday with new tricks such as: he can fly. Don't believe me? Throw his squeaky ball down the steps and he CLEARS about five steps!! He loves to play tug-of-war with anybody that is willing. His kong is one of his favorites. We stuff treats in it and he has to get them out... but he has outsmarted it!! He has realized that he has to stick the end of his nose in it, bite and toss it up in the air. When it hits the floor, a treat comes out! Or he sits it at the top of the stairs, nudges it down the stairs with his nose, and a treat falls out at the bottom! And of course he takes it back to the top to get the next treat! Genius I'm telling you! The most recent trick we have happened upon is this. We were outside in the front yard (without a leash! such a good boy that stays close!) and our friend Melissa was sitting in her Chevy. She was squeezing a new squeaky toy that she had just bought for one of her new pets and Jack was so excited by it, he decided to jump from the ground outside the truck, through the open truck window and sit down next to Melissa. Needless to say, he got the toy... So everyday he continues to teach US new things, believe it or not. We love him and he loves us just as much. I will say that he is beginning to get spoiled! But what loved animal isn't spoiled? We all love him and are so glad that he is now in our lives!
